Constitutional Crisis in 2022

On March 8, 2022, the opposition submitted a motion of no confidence against Khan to the National Assembly Secretariat. [1][2] On March 27, 2022, Khan publicly waved the US diplomatic code. However, he later changed his stance on US conspiracies against his country's government.] On April 1, 2022, Prime Minister Khan announced that three options had been discussed with the "establishment" in connection with the no-confidence motion against him in parliament. In other words, "resignation, vote of no confidence." Or elections.”  On April 3, 2022, President Arif Alvi, on Khan's advice, dissolved the Pakistan National Assembly after the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly rejected and withdrew the no-confidence motion. This move would have required holding elections. On April 10, a no-confidence vote was taken and he was removed from office after the Supreme Court ruled that the no-confidence motion had been rejected illegally. Khan pursued an independent foreign policy and was removed by a vote of no confidence. He blamed it on the United States. Although he had friendly relations with China and Russia, his removal sparked protests by his supporters across Pakistan. Democracy or Race for Power?

People in Pakistan suffer both from uncertainty and oblivion about their rights and the value of their votes. It seems like non of the elected leaders have lived up to their mandates and promises. Many assume that the current elections will be nothing but a farce that will decide who will malice with the country next. With the emergence of new political parties, still their is a majority that hopes for a change in the current political structure of the country.

What happens next? Only time will tell.
